Imax Corp. said Wednesday that it has agreed to release three DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. films in its Imax 3-D format.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The three to be released in the larger, 3D format will be “Monsters vs. Aliens,” “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Shrek Goes Fourth” all of which will be the animated studio’s first three 3-D movies. The first film is scheduled to be released in early 2009.

Shares in DreamWorks gained 20 cents to $29.37 in early trading Wednesday on the Nasdaq.
