Denver-based Summus Works Inc. said on Monday that it has acquired substantially all the assets and business operations of Sun Valley-based BioPharmetics Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

BioPharmetics Inc., which was founded in 2005, provide medical equipment, diabetic supplies, and health, beauty, and anti-aging products around the world. The pharmaceutical division distributes medical equipment and diabetes supplies, and dispenses prescribed medications through its pharmacy partners.

The biotechnology division provides customers with the ability to manufacture and test potential prescription medications and provides assistance in FDA clinical trials. The cosmetic division manages the distribution of the TOMA line of cosmetics and does private label manufacturing for companies.

The acquisition remains subject to the execution of definitive agreements and approvals, Summus said, and the intent is that some or all of BioPharmetics management will be elected to the Summus board. Both companies trade on the pink sheets.
