Napster Inc. has signed a deal to provide mobile content for cellular phones to Portuguese cellular operator TMN.

The deal will make the music service Napster Mobile available to TMN’s users with wireless protocol or Java-enabled phones. The service will be managed by Swedish cellular giant LM Ericsson Telephone Co.

Other features in the service include a recommendation feature, and dual delivery system, which ensures that when content is purchased on the phone a copy is sent to the customer’s personal computer.

Napster signed a similar international deal with Japan last week and also signed a domestic deal with Cingular.

Shares in the Los Angeles-based digital music provider were flat at $4.39 Tuesday.
