Growth at New York State factories slowed in October to its weakest level in five months, although new orders jumped, the New York Federal Reserve said on Monday.
The New York Fed’s “Empire State” index showed overall conditions for manufacturers slipped to +12.08 for October, the lowest since June, from September’s downwardly revised +15.58. The index has been declining steadily since July. The median analyst forecast had been for +18.50.
