Oil Prices Drop Below $48

Crude futures slipped below $48 a barrel Friday, weighed down by rising supplies in the U.S. and falling demand in China.


Light, sweet crude for June delivery fell 64 cents to $47.90 a barrel in midday trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange, where gasoline and heating oil futures also declined. On London’s International Petroleum Exchange, June Brent crude futures fell 12 cents to $48.22 per barrel.
