U.S. chain store sales fell in the final week of August, with back-to-school sales suffering due to unusually warm weather, a report said on Tuesday.
Sales in August to date were down 1 percent compared with the same span in July, while sales at major retailers rose by 3.4 percent on a year-over-year basis for the week ended Aug. 27, said Redbook Research.
