Viacom’s BET Gets On Board ‘Soul Train’ Franchise

Viacom’s BET Networks acquired the “Soul Train” franchise, for an undisclosed amount from Ron Burkle’s Yucaipa Cos. and InterMedia Partners, the Los Angeles Times reports. The Soul Train brand includes 1,100 episodes of the original TV series, 40 awards show specials, and a library of clips of performances by African American musicians, comedians, and other celebrities who appeared on the weekly program.
