High housing costs played a role in Toyota’s decision 1 ½ years ago to move its North American headquarters from Torrance to Plano, Texas. Curbed L.A. cites other sources in reporting that a lack of affordable homes influenced Toyota’s decision to move operations out of state by the end of next year.
According to Curbed L.A., Toyota held focus groups with employees who said they were willing to move if it meant lower costs.
