In Tuesday trading, the Dow Jones industrial average closed up 75 points to 16,533.
The Nasdaq rose 69 points, or 1 percent, to 4,268.
The S&P 500 rose 13 points, or 1 percent, to 1,886.
The LABJ Stock Index rose 2 points, or 1 percent, to 193.
