In Friday trading, the Dow Jones industrial average closed up 10 points to 14,547.

The Nasdaq rose 40 points, or 1 percent, to 3,206.

The S&P 500 rose 14 points, or nearly 1 percent, to 1,555.

The LABJ Stock Index rose 3 points to 158.
