Rooftop Solar Fees Proposed

Under a proposal backed by the California Public Utilities Commission, new owners of rooftop solar panels could face fees – including a one-time charge of at least $75 – for connecting to the electric grid, the Los Angeles Times reports. Current solar customers would be exempt for 20 years. Utilities wanted to charge more for homes and businesses with solar panels.
