Residents Use Bedsheets to Escape Westlake Motel Fire

A fire at a three-story motel in L.A.’s Westlake neighborhood on Christmas night forced residents to tie bedsheets together to climb out of smoke-filled apartments, the Los Angeles Times reports. Two out of the six people injured are in critical condition, officials said.
