France’s high fashion retailer Chanel just paid a luxury price to buy retail space it had been leasing on Rodeo Drive, breaking records in the three-block Beverly Hills corridor, the Los Angeles Times reports.
What was Chanel’s price tag for its 11,500-square-foot store located at 400 N. Rodeo Drive?
About $152 million, or $13,217 a square foot, according to Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside, a law firm involved with the transaction.
The previous record holder was the French luxury brand LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton when it purchased its property two years ago for $11,971 a square foot or $85 million in total.
