PE Roundup: Private Equity Deals Announced This Week

West L.A. private equity firm Brentwood Associates announced Thursday that its portfolio company, Monterey-based maker of pre-Kindergarten and grade school educational products Excelligence Learning Corp., has acquired Really Good Stuff Inc. of Monroe, Conn., a marketer of primarily grade school classroom tools. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Aurora Resurgence, an affiliate of Westwood investment firm Aurora Capital Group, announced Wednesday it has completed the acquisition of the assets of automated external defibrillator maker Cardiac Science Corp. of Waukesha, Wis. Terms were not disclosed.

Century City alternative asset manager Ares Management announced Wednesday that one of its real estate funds has invested in Irvine luxury hospitality management company Montage Hotels & Resorts. The transaction includes Ares purchasing a minority stake of up to 20 percent in Montage and also providing up to $200 million in future growth capital.
