Oksana Kolesnikova, the founder and chief executive of the Oksana School of Music & Art in Beverly Hills, has added a jewel to her crown with the recent purchase of Rancho Palos Verdes’ European School of Music & Art.
Kolesnikova was known for seven years for playing the piano at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Polo Lounge. She opened her music school five years ago. She said she didn’t consider buying the European School until Narcisa Mikov, the owner of the school, approached her because Mikov was moving out of state.
After attending a recital there last summer, Kolesnikova said she made her decision.
“We completely fell in love with them and thought it would make an amazing addition to the Oksana school,” Kolesnikova said. “It felt right.”
The combined schools will have more than 50 teachers and 300 students, according to Kolesnikova. Both schools offer in-home private lessons. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In addition to the Oksana School, Kolesnikova, along with her husband Alex Concas, runs an academic tutoring program for kindergarteners up to high school seniors and offers foreign language lessons under Oksana Management Group Inc.
Kolesnikova said she will maintain the European School’s current staff, curriculum and pricing structure. She also plans to make her presence known in Rancho Palos Verdes by hosting a piano concert early next year at the Trump National Golf Course to benefit Smile Train, a nonprofit that offers corrective, cleft surgery for children.
