In Tuesday trading, the Dow Jones industrial average closed up 228 points, or more than 1 percent, to 16,396.
The Nasdaq rose 75 points, or 2 percent, to 4,352.
The S&P 500 rose 28 points, or more than 1 percent, to 1,874.
The LABJ Stock Index rose 3.5 points, or 2 percent, to 189.
