In Wednesday trading, the Dow Jones industrial average closed down 108 points, or nearly 1 percent, to 13,928.
The Nasdaq dropped 49 points, or 1.5 percent, to 3,164.
The S&P 500 fell 19 points, or more than 1 percent to 1,512.
The LABJ Stock Index fell 2 points, or 1 percent to 145.
