In Wednesday morning trading, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 112 points, or 0.7 percent, to 15,817.
The Nasdaq dipped 23 points, or 0.6 percent, to 4,075.
The S&P 500 lost 10 points, or 0.6 percent, to 1,782.
