Davan Maharaj, editor of the Los Angeles Times, has also been named publisher, a move by Tribune Publishing Co. meant to save money by cutting out a layer of top executives in the company. Editors will assume editor-publisher roles at eight other Tribune papers, according to the Los Angeles Times.
