Lockheed Martin Joins Long-Haul Airship Race, Announces Layoffs

Lockheed Martin is working on a long-haul airship intended to carry truck-size loads to areas difficult to reach by other modes of transportation, according to the Los Angeles Times. Separately, Lockheed announced a voluntary layoff program targeting about 1,000 employees in the company’s aeronautics division.
