Atlanta’s Crown Paper Group Inc. has bought independent corrugated sheet producer Montebello Container Corp. in Montebello, including its three Los Angeles-area plants, Crown announced Wednesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Montebello has plants in La Mirada, Santa Fe Springs and Pico Rivera.

Montebello President Anthony Salcido and Vice President John will stay with the company. They said being acquired by Crown will give Montebello better access to capital, which could be useful in funding plant upgrades.

The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Crown, which is backed by New York private equity firm Lindsay Goldberg. Crown has also recently bought Washington State firm Port Townsend Paper and two companies in Vancouver, British Columbia.
