The Little Tokyo Community Council has gotten a temporary halt to subway construction to prevent disruption to the important shopping days leading up to New Year’s Day.

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority met in a closed session last week and decided to postpone the work until after Jan. 1. The work was scheduled to begin on Friday.
