American Fruits and Flavors, a Los Angeles flavor supplier, was purchased by Corona energy drink maker Monster for $690 million. The transaction will allow Monster to take ownership of intellectual property related to new flavor development and its existing products.
Food Business News reported Thursday that the acquisition of the company also will allow Monster to deploy its products more effectively into the beverage company’s growing international supply chain.
“We view today’s announcement as the integration of two companies that have enjoyed a tremendously symbiotic relationship over many years,” said Fred Farago, president of American Fruits and Flavors, which launched in 1962.
