Joe’s Jeans Inc. in downtown Los Angeles announced Friday it has merged its Hudson Jeans brand with Robert Graham and has changed its name to Differential Brands Group Inc.
Joe’s bought the Hudson brand in 2013 and sold its Joe’s Jeans brand in September.
According to a statement released by the company, the name change signifies the transformation of the standalone Hudson Jeans of Rancho Dominguez and the shirt-oriented Robert Graham of New York into a unified consumer platform. Under the new umbrella, the company will also focus on, “organically growing its unique brands through a global, omni-channel distribution strategy across premium wholesale channels, direct-to-consumer retail stores and e-commerce, while seeking opportunities to acquire other complementary, premium clothing brands.”
Differential, the new company whose shares are listed on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol DFBG, rose 26 percent to end the week at $8 a share.
It was also announced that Michael Buckley will lead Differential as Chief Executive Officer. He was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Robert Graham, and has had additional leadership experience at True Religion, in addition to experience at Diesel and Ben Sherman.
