Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, is in Los Angeles to visit proposed venues for the 2024 Olympic Games, KCBS (Channel 2) reported Monday morning.
Bach’s visit comes five months after the city was selected as the U.S. candidate for the international sporting event. The committee steering the bid says Bach and other IOC officials will visit USC and UCLA campuses and the Getty Center. They’re also scheduled to meet local boosters, including Mayor Eric Garcetti, Magic Johnson and several American Olympic medalists.
