G.M. Recalls Increase by 8.5 Million

Automaker G.M. announced plans to recall 8.5 million cars, almost all of which need to be taken back because of ignition switch problems. G.M., which attributed three fatalities to crashes involving the newly recalled cars, has recalled 29 million autos so far this year, according to the Wall Street Journal.
