Chinese firm Fosun International Ltd. will invest in Studio 8, a new company being led by former Warner Bros. executive Jeff Robinov. The deal gives the Shanghai-based Fosun “significant influence” over the distribution of future Studio 8 productions in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. Studio 8 now has some $1 billion in financing following the Fosun investment. At Warner Bros., Robinov oversaw the productions of such recent hits as the “Dark Knight” trilogy and “Argo,” NikkeFinke.com reports.
