In this weekend’s box office tally, Universal’s “Ride Along 2” overtook Disney’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Daily Variety reported the comedy sequel picked up a commanding $34 million over the four-day holiday weekend. Fox’s “The Revenant” came in second, bolstered by its strong showing at the Oscar nominations on Thursday. The space opera took third place.
