Kohl’s Department Stores said it would close 18 underperforming locations by mid-June, including stores in San Gabriel and West Hills. According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the closings are prompted by the Wisconsin retailer’s interest in opening smaller retail spaces and weak sales in November and in January where demand for cold-weather goods was especially low. The move is expected to impact up to 1,800 workers locally.
