A former finance manager at a big Culver City TV production studio was sentenced to two years in federal prison on Thursday for embezzling $2.5 million from his former employer, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Thursday.
Nolan Mitchell Ransdell, 41, previously pleaded guilty to stealing money from Studio Lambert USA, the reality TV production house now known as All3Media America. The studio’s credits include “Undercover Boss.”
Ransdell’s embezzlement tactics included forging another executive’s signature on checks that Ransdell made out to himself and making cash withdrawals from the company’s bank accounts. The investigation began after Studio Lambert USA’s parent company in London noticed accounting discrepancies and alerted the FBI.
Ransdell was also ordered to pay $2.46 million in restitution.
