Walt Disney Co. has decided to rid itself of Fusion Media. According to The Wall Street Journal, Disney is in talks to sell its stake in Fusion, which includes a cable and digital news network created as part of a venture with Univision Communications Inc. Disney’s ABC News and Univision launched the network in October 2013 in a bid to target English-speaking Hispanics.
However, the network has struggled to gain traction and shifted course to target millennials with a focus on pop culture and technology. The publication, quoting unnamed sources, reports that both companies are trying to find a way to exit by the end of the year.
