Environmental activist Erin Brokovich hosted a meeting Wednesday that drew more than 2,000 residents interested in discussing safety issues as a result of the natural gas leak near Porter Ranch, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. More than 1,000 families have been displaced from their homes as a result, according to Los Angeles City Councilman Mitchell Englander. Southern California Gas Co. officials say it could take up to four months to repair the leak.
