Attacker’s Phone May Be Accessible Without Apple Assistance

After weeks of government pressure on Apple Inc. to help unlock the encrypted iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino attackers, federal prosecutors late Monday asked a judge to halt a much-anticipated court hearing on the matter. The Associated Press reports that the reversal was prompted when the FBI said in court papers filed less than 24 hours before Tuesday’s hearing that it may have found another way to attain information from the phone.
