Four prominent architecture and landscape firms are competing for the opportunity to transform a long-abandoned parcel into what’s to be called First and Broadway Park. Their drawings and summaries of their park concepts were detailed Tuesday in the Los Angeles Downtown News.
AECOM, Eric Owen Moss Architects, Mia Lehrer + Associates, and Brooks + Scarpa emerged as the front runners in a competition to transform the site of a 13-story state office building damaged in the 1971 Sylmar earthquake into a destination.
A winner will be selected early this month from the four finalists, which recently presented their varying concepts at City Hall.
