Alfred E. Mann has resigned as executive chairman of Mannkind Corp., according to a press release. Kent Kresa, who previously served as lead director, has been named the Valencia drug manufacturer`s new chairman. Mann was the Business Journal´s Los Angeles Business Person of the Year in 2003, while Kresa received the honor in 2002.
