L.A. County transportation officials unveiled Thursday a plan to fast-track eight transportation projects to bring them to completion by the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The eight transportation projects include a rail transit corridor through the Sepulveda Pass, a light-rail extension through the South Bay and a 20-mile light rail project from downtown’s Union Station to Artesia.
The projects were initially scheduled to be completed after 2028, but could potentially be completed between two to 15 years sooner. But the projects need additional state and federal funding to be fast-tracked, according to officials.
