Iceland-based airline carrier Wow Air began flying from Los Angeles International Airport on June 15, offering regular weekly services to Reykjavik, Iceland for $99.
One-way tickets will be available to passengers who will fly from September 21 to December 7 this year. The airline started offering its low-fare tickets to West Coast passengers in January.
“The feedback so far on our LAX flight has been fantastic and it is clear that there is a lot of demand for a quality low-cost offering between California and Europe on a year round basis,” said Skuli Modensen, the owner and chief executive of WOW Air, in a press release.
From Iceland, passengers will be able to transfer and continue their trip to 23 European cities, including London, Paris, Dublin, Amsterdam, and Stockholm for $199.
Founded in 2011, the company connects nearly 30 destinations across the U.S. and Europe. The airline’s annual capacity is projected to jump from 840,000 in 2015 to 1.8 million by the end of the year.
The Los Angeles route will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircrafts with a passenger capacity of 350. Each plane is configured with a single economy class cabin. Wider seats with extra legroom will be available for an extra fee.
