A $4.1 billion effort to finally spruce up Los Angeles International Airport is paying off for the entire region, according to a report set for release Tuesday.
The massive airport renovation project is expected to give a $6.89 billion boost to the region’s construction, manufacturing, real estate, finance, insurance and retail industries, according to the 47-page report by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp.
Additionally, LAX’s capital improvement project is expected to generate 39,900 direct and indirect jobs that will pay $2.6 billion in wages over the next several years, the LAEDC said.
