The 302-room luxury Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica reportedly unveiled a new plan to dramatically alter its footprint, according to Curbed LA.
The plan would jettison the 21-story tower that attracted controversy when previously proposed in favor of a shorter and wider building taking up much of the block on Ocean Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, according to renderings published by Curbed LA.
It also includes the demolition of the property’s 32 historic bungalows and the addition of 60 market-rate condos and at least 30 affordable apartments.
