Luxury hospitality company SBE is scheduled to open its first hotel in the Middle East this spring, the company announced this week.

The Miracle Mile-based firm will open a 270-room branch of its Mondrian hotel brand in Doha, Qatar.

The region has been a hotbed of activity lately for the company, headed by Chief Executive Sam Nazarian. SBE opened two branches of its sushi restaurant Katsuya in Kuwait in 2014. The company has said it plans to open more branches of Katsuya, some of its Mediterranean restaurant Cleo, and another hotel in various countries in the Middle East this year.
