Wireless network manufacturer Xirrus Inc. on Tuesday announced $18.4 million in venture capital funding.
The eight year old Thousand Oaks is known for building wireless Internet equipment that allows central management for wi-fi systems. Academic institutions and office buildings often use the company’s services when replacing large wired networks.
Xirrus has now raised almost $80 million. The latest funding round was internal, and according to public filings, representatives from U.S. Venture Partners, August Capital, InterWest Partners and broadband firm Calix have seats on the board.
