Former ValueClick Chief Executive James Zarley has stepped aside as the company’s executive chairman to become non-executive chairman.

Zarley became executive chairman to help oversee a smooth transition after retiring as chief executive of the Westlake Village digital marketing company in December. He was replaced as CEO by John Giuliani, who had served as chief operating officer since April 2012.

Zarley served as chief executive of the company from 1999 to 2007 and again from 2010 to 2012.
