More than 1 million Tinder users pay for the app’s premium features each month – up from an average of 332,000 in the first nine months of last year, parent company Match Group announced Tuesday.
The features, branded as Tinder Plus, allow users to “Super Like” other users, swipe right an unlimited number of times, reconsider profiles they’ve passed on, and match with people outside their region. The subscription service costs $10 a month for those under 30 years old and $20 a month for older customers.
The growth in paid subscribers to Tinder helped drive Dallas-based Match Group’s first quarter revenue up 21 percent to $285 million. The company’s adjusted EBITDA rose 94 percent to $64.6 million during the quarter ended March 31. Match Group does not break out Tinder’s revenue.
