In an internal memo to Tinder staff, later released to the public, Chief Executive Sean Rad called allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination by a female former executive full of “inaccuracies and omissions.”

Former Vice President of Marketing Whitney Wolfe has sued the company, alleging co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Justin Mateen sexually harassed her after their personal relationship soured, repeatedly calling her a “whore” and berating her at company functions. Wolfe also claimed Tinder and parent company IAC/InterActiveCorp failed to investigate the harassment and wrongfully terminated her employment.

Mateen was suspended Tuesday while IAC investigates Wolfe’s claims, which the company characterized as “unfounded.”

In his note to the staff, Rad said he had “learned a lot through this process,” adding that he wished he had “done more in terms of managing what was clearly a complex situation.”

Saying Wolfe’s complaint was “full of factual inaccuracies and omissions,” he denied the company discriminated against her because of age or gender. The suit, he said, “paints an inaccurate picture of my actions and what went on here.”
