Tinder of West Hollywood has purchased contact management app Humin of San Francisco for an undisclosed amount.

Tinder Chief Executive Sean Rad has talked for years of building a professional networking app using Tinder’s swipe-to-connect feature. Humin’s platform, which helps people manage their social and professional contacts, could aid those ambitions.

Humin Chief Executive Ankur Jain will join Tinder as vice president of product and Chief Operating Officer David Wyler will become vice president of partnerships. The two executive will lead new product development initiatives that will incorporate Humin’s intellectual property.

“We’re excited to leverage their experience and (intellectual property) to accelerate our product roadmap along with some other exciting projects we have in the works,” Rad said in a statement.

Tinder updated its app in November to allow users to include education and job information on their profiles. In August, Tinder helped launch a networking app for all past and current members of Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list. The app included a member directory, a social platform to share links and ask questions, and a messaging feature.
