Santa Monica’s Tapatalk, which makes an app that streamlines online forum discussions, has raised a $5.8 million seed funding round from Palo Alto’s Floodgate and Accel Partners.
The company was founded five years ago in Shanghai, but founder Winter Wong moved Tapatalk to Los Angeles earlier this year to take part in startup accelerator MuckerLab’s third class.
Tapatalk’s app creates a personalized news feed for online forum conversations.
The app currently has 2.5 million users.
