SpaceX to Relaunch Vertically Landed Rocket in September or October
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. is aiming to relaunch one of the four rockets it has landed vertically this September or October, the company’s Chief Executive Elon Musk wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. The Hawthorne company has officially scheduled 17 launches for 2016, nearly tripling its six rocket launches last year.
LAPD Leases 100 Electric Vehicles
The Los Angeles Police Department has leased 100 electric BMW i3 vehicles for its fleet, according to a press release. The LAPD now has 199 electric vehicles, which the city claims is the largest fully battery-powered municipal fleet in the United States. The new vehicles will be mostly used by a civilian work force for meetings or site visits.
E3’s Industry Booths Have Declined
Though some 50,000 attendees are expected to show up at the L.A. Convention Center for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, several industry heavy hitters such as Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, and Disney, which recently shut down its video-game publishing business, will not have booths at the conference, reports the New York Times. The conference is trying to fill the void with more displays from virtual reality and mobile games.
Nativo Signs Distribution Deal with Associated Press
The Associated Press has signed a content distribution deal with native-advertising network Nativo of El Segundo, according to a press release. The AP’s advertorial copywriting division, AP Content Services, will distribute the content it creates for its advertising clients across Nativo’s advertising network.
Snapchat Signs Content Production Partnership with AEG
Snapchat of Venice has signed a deal with Anschutz Entertainment Group to produce Live Story videos of concerts, according to a press release. All available Live Story advertising inventory has sold out for concerts in 2017, including for the Stagecoach Country Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and Panorama.
