Activision Blizzard to Open Burbank E-Sports Arena
Activision Blizzard of Santa Monica plans to open an e-sports arena in Burbank to play host to a variety of video game tournaments including the Overwatch Contenders Playoffs and Hearthstone Championship Tour in October, the Business Journal reports. Blizzard Arena Los Angeles will be able to broadcast and run multiple events at the same time, the company wrote on its website.
SpaceX Launches Mysterious Air Force Space Plane Ahead of Hurricane Irma
SpaceX launched an unmanned space plane for the U.S. Air Force Thursday morning as Hurricane Irma took aim at Cape Canaveral, reports CNN. Some forecasts suggest the Hurricane could reach the Kennedy Space Center by late Saturday or early Sunday morning.
Maestro, a viewer engagement analytics software developer, raised $3 million, reports TechCrunch. The software is tailored to video game players and e-sports organizations that live stream in-game footage.
