Exactly Right podcast network debuts; SpaceX delays Vandenberg launch; ComicBlitz acquired by film distributor
ComicBlitz Acquired by Cinedigm
New York–headquartered film distributor Cinedigm Corp. acquired Los Angeles-based digital comic book firm ComicBlitz for an undisclosed sum Nov. 28. Variety reports ComicBlitz, which charges $8 per month for unlimited access to over 10,000 digital comic books, is expected to generate over $5 million in revenue within 24 months of closing the deal. Founded in 2014 and launched 2015, ComicBlitz has raised $101,000 in a seed round to date.
SpaceX Delays Vandenberg Launch
Due to a rare heavy rain forecast, Space Exploration Technologies Corp. opted to delay its planned Nov. 29 satellite launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base. Socaltech reports an incoming storm system is expected to dump rain on Northern and Central Calif., and the accompanying high winds threaten rocket launch conditions. Sixty four satellites were scheduled to launch on Wednesday. The rescheduled launch date has not yet been announced.
Exactly Right, the new podcast network from true-crime comedy podcast hosts Georgia Hardstark and Karen Kilgariff, announced its launch Nov. 28. According to Rolling Stone, the new network is backed by San Francisco-based Stitcher Inc. and its subsidiary Midroll Media and has four podcasts currently on its roster.
