Electronic Arts Acquires Respawn for Up to $455 Million

Respawn Entertainment, the video game company behind the “Titanfall” franchise, has been acquired by Electronic Arts Inc. in a deal valued at up to $455 million, the Business Journal reports. Respawn, in Sherman Oaks, has already been in business with Electronic Arts as the Redwood City-based company has been the publisher of the two “Titanfall” games Respawn has developed.

SpaceX Board Member on Leave of Absence Following Misconduct Claims

Steve Jurvetson resigned from his venture capital firm DFJ and took a leave of absence from the boards of Tesla Inc. and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. after claims of misconduct against him, Bloomberg reports. He denied the allegations. In October, he hosted a fireside chat with Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s president and a fellow board member, on the campus of Stanford University and has remained active on the speaking circuit since the allegations were raised.

Snapchat Recruits Former Nielsen Exec Cheryl Idell to Head Entertainment Measurement

Cheryl Idell, a veteran of media research and advertising measurement with nearly three decades of experience, has joined Snap as head of entertainment measurement, Variety reports. Snap hired Idell to help pitch its advertising products to movie studios, TV networks and internet-video platforms.
